The Tampa-Hillsborough Action Plan, Inc. (THAPgroup) is a minority-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization that developed as an outgrowth of racial disturbances, violence and other inequities in the East Tampa Florida community.
The organization’s launch in 1987 was based upon the theme “working together to make a difference” which marked its creation as one of the most positive and historical events for the City of Tampa and Hillsborough County. The joint effort of the original members would come to be known as a giant step taken to make a difference in the lives of every citizen. THAPgroup positioned itself as a catalyst for the elimination of disparities, from economic and business development to human and social services, governmental affairs, and more.
Today, THAPgroup is a collective group of service providers focused on the housing, healthcare, and economic development needs of Southwest Florida.
